The Board of Directors has today announced that Louise Larsson has been appointed as the new Managing Director of Destination S\u00e4lenfj\u00e4llen. She will take up the position on March 1. <\/p>\n

Louise Larsson is a well-known profile in S\u00e4lenfj\u00e4llen with solid local roots. She lives in the area and has a wide network of contacts in the area. Louise comes most recently from Fiskarheden Fastigheter where she successfully ran several projects that she will continue to be partly involved in alongside the assignment in the Destination Company. <\/p>\n

– “I am both proud and honored to lead Destination S\u00e4lenfj\u00e4llen. I am passionate about the development of our region and look forward to working with all member companies and other stakeholders to strengthen S\u00e4lenfj\u00e4llen as an attractive destination,” says Louise Larsson<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

S\u00e4lenfj\u00e4llen is the world’s fourth largest winter destination. It is now working hard and strategically to establish itself as a potent barefoot destination, and several of the major players are investing heavily in the area. This also creates conditions for smaller operators who can follow suit and invest to everyone’s benefit. <\/p>\n

Destination S\u00e4lenfj\u00e4llen, with 150 member companies, has brought together S\u00e4lenfj\u00e4llen’s hiking, cycling and canoeing trails in a new smart and interactive digital platform for web and app. The guide also includes nature reserves, attractions, restaurants, accommodation, swimming spots and much more. In this way, Destination S\u00e4lenfj\u00e4llen wants to inspire and guide visitors to richer experiences in the mountains. <\/p>\n

Increased mountain safety<\/strong>
Those who download the app to their phone get access to both GPS function and offline maps so that you always see your position in the map, which is both safe and secure. Visitors can plan their trip at home at the kitchen table and then take the guide with them in their pocket on the mountain. Fj\u00e4llr\u00e4ddningen welcomes the initiative, which significantly facilitates the work and response time for operations. As part of creating sustainable events in the mountains, Tjejmilen S\u00e4len has donated SEK 20,000 to Destination S\u00e4lenfj\u00e4llen. The money will be used in full to renovate and develop mountain trails, which will both protect and make the mountain environment accessible.<\/p>\n

– It is important that we are jointly responsible for making as small a footprint as possible in the mountain environment where Tjejmilen is organized, with the lead grant, destination S\u00e4lenfj\u00e4llen can continue the work with poles on the mountain that reduce the wear and tear on nature. In addition to the contribution, we work actively to minimize the wear on the mountain by, for example, encouraging all participants to carry their own liquid during the competition so we can minimize the number of liquid stations. We also transport all the materials required along the course on foot or by electric bike, says Lotta Lindblom<\/strong>, Event Manager at Marathongruppen.<\/p>\n

– For several years we have worked with the local industry to make mountain nature more accessible by building footbridges on popular trails. We see very positive effects on the trails where we have supplemented with footbridges in the form of increased use and less wear and tear on the ground. It is gratifying that events such as Tjejmilen S\u00e4len contribute to both protecting and making mountain nature in S\u00e4lenfj\u00e4llen accessible, says Anders Bjernulf<\/strong>, CEO of Destination S\u00e4lenfj\u00e4llen.<\/p>\n

– For us, local anchoring is important, we have a continuous dialog with the landowner association in S\u00e4len linked to events to work both long-term and sustainable. We also aim to work with local associations at events that can volunteer as officials and where the compensation goes back to the association’s children and youth activities,” says Fredrik Ryd\u00e9n<\/strong>, Concept and Event Manager at SkiStar.<\/p>\n

The airline BRA launches summer route to S\u00e4len from \u00c4ngelholm \/ Helsingborg. The route flies on Wednesdays and Saturdays during the period 6 July to 26 July.<\/p>\n
